The committee adopted a new set of junior regulations that come into force on 1 January 2006. It is important that parents and junior members read and understand these regulations.
The regulations introduce new requirements. In particular, until juniors have reached a specified skill level they are required to wear a buoyancy aid when going on the water. Unfortunately, the Club, being run by volunteers, with low membership fees, does not have the resources to provide these other than as a temporary arrangement. We have purchased a few but cannot guarantee that there will enough to enable everyone to row. We therefore ask that parents buy an ARA-approved buoyancy aid for their child to enable them to row. Suitable buoyancy aids can be purchased from GeTeK Ltd. The Club may buy the buoyancy aids back from you (if in a good condition) at a fair second hand price, once your child has passed the skills tests. |
