After 4 years of coaching the women of Abingdon Jon Rooney has left for pastures new. Since his arrival at the club the performance of the women’s squad increased greatly with this season seeing a semi final in Senior quad sculls at Henley Womens Regatta and a 4th place finish for the quad at the National Championships. With Jon’s departure comes the arrival of Pete Burden. |

Our primary aim is to provide rowing facilities for our own members. However, the Thames at Abingdon is very attractive, and a very functional training area for rowing. We are happy to consider sharing our facilities on an occasional basis with visiting crews from other parts of the country, or on a more permanent basis with local clubs. |

The distance from lock to lock is some 3000m which gives our members plenty of scenery to enjoy, and even during the summer months we remain relatively free of river traffic. |
